The Acer Aspire V line is a bit thinner than the current models, about 9 percent, and both series feature a full-HD (1920 x 1080) displays, better graphic processors, solid-state drive and naturally a full-blown copy of Windows 8. The Acer Aspire V5 Series starts at $499 and it’ll offer three different screen sizes: 11.6″, 14″ and a 15.6″. Customer will have the choice of touch or non-touch screen, and all the touch-enabled models will include full-size backlit keyboard. Let’s have a more detailed view of the different models:
Aspire V5 with 11.6-inch display
Going deeper into the specifics, the low-end 11.6-inch display model will include all the basics tech specs you’d expect for everyday computing (e.g., Office, browsing, email, videos, etc.). At only 3 pounds and less than an inch thick, this laptop will pack: a 1366 x 768 HD display, the choice of the next-gen AMD dual (A4) or quad-core (ultra low power AMD A6 Temash), or current Intel processors, up to 6GB of memory, and up to 1TB of internal storage. The company is also bundling an Acer Converter Port to connect an external display and other peripherals — A VGA, USB and RJ45 converter cable will also be included in some models.
Aspire V5 15.6- and 14-inch displays
These two models are more powerful, the 15.6-inch and the 14-inch will be available with a HD (1366 x 768) or a full-HD (1920 x 1080) display, Intel or AMD dual or quad-core processors, and 4 speakers and support for Dolby Home Theatre sound system, as we already seen in the Aspire R7 and P3 Ultrabook. Also customers will have the choice of a NVIDIA GeForce GT7XXM or AMD Radeon HD 8750 integrated graphic processor.
Acer Aspire V7 Ultrabooks
The Acer Aspire V7 Series of Ultrabooks is almost identical to the V5 Series, but this model adds a “silky touch” finish at the bottom. Customers will have the choice of different Intel processors, solid-state drives, Acer Converter Port and WiDi (Intel’s Wireless Display technology). Acer plans to make the Aspire V lines available by the end of May and like I mentioned before price will start just below $500.
