The Acer Iconia W3 is 11.43 mm at its thickest point with an actual screen size of 8.1 inches, weighs 1.1 pounds, houses an Intel Atom (x86) processors, and it comes with Microsoft’s Office Home & Student 2013. Oh! And it cost $379. The bad news first, although the Iconia W3 is the first announced tablet to run Windows 8, according to The Verge, the tablet has a poor screen quality on reproducing colors and viewing angles. On the other hand, the battery life in this 8-inch tablet looks promising, Acer estimates that users should be able to play 720p videos for up to 8 hours on the 1280 x 800 display. Though, the battery can last even longer thanks to “Connected Standby” mode present in the latest Intel chip, which allow you to turn-off the screen to conserve power while the actual device remains active and apps can keep updating in the background.

The Acer Iconia W3 also features an Intel Atom dual-core 1.8GHz Z2760 processor, a choice of either a 32GB or 64GB internal storage, a 2 megapixel front and rear-facing camera, Bluetooth 4.0, micro-USB, microSD slot, which can allow to increase the storage capacity to an extra 32GB, and micro-HDMI port to connect to large screens. And there is also a full-sized keyboard that also functions as a dock that can be a bit awkward to carry and it cost around $80, and finally you’ll be able to get a case, which is also sold separately for $35.
