Now, the company is pushing Android 7.1.1 with new improvements and features to more devices, including Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus Player, Pixel C, Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, and General Mobile 4G (Android One).
What’s new on Android 7.1.1 Nougat
The new update version of Android Nougat brings support for its “image keyboard”, which you can use to quickly find and send GIFs and photos without having to switch apps. This new improvement works on Hangouts, the default Messaging app, and Allo. Android 7.1.1 also brings a slew of diverse emoji. In the new update, you’ll also find the app shortcut feature, which Google included with Android 7.1 for Pixel. Basically, when you press and hold on an app icon, a context menu will appear with a number of options you can use to send quick messages to contact or to navigate to a saved location. Google is listing the complete set of the features and changes for version 7.1.1 at the Android Developers support site. As with any other update, this Android rollout will take time to reach everyone. According to Google, it will take weeks before phones gets the update. Alternatively, you can enroll your device in the Android Beta preview program to get the update.
