Once you’re all set up configuring the app, browsing and discovering new content is as you would expect from Flipboard in iOS or Android. You have your Cover Stories section with content you’re subscribed to, the other sections are populated with content you’re interested in. You can “flip” (swipe) your stories like in a magazine, tap items to view them, you can tap “Discover” from the top bar to find even more content, and of course you can add your publications and search stories. Flipboard also has more options, which are easily accessible from the Windows 8.1 App commands. Just swipe from the bottom up, and you find commands like subscribe, refresh, or pin to the Start screen. Like I mentioned before this version of Flipboard embraces the Metro-style design of Windows, so it also support Snap view to read stories side-by-side with other apps.
According to The Verge, the company is also preparing a similar version of Flipboard for Windows Phone, but no word when it’ll come out. The app is available starting today from the Windows Store for Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1 devices, which of course it includes Surface 2.
