Nokia Lumia 2520 tech specs
The Nokia device looks amazing and the word on the street is that it easily be a good Surface 2 competitor and it might even be able to take on the mighty Apple’s iPad. At 10.1-inch with beautiful design the Lumia 2520 could just be one of the best tablets of 2013 for outdoor reading thanks to less reflecting capability on direct sunlight and with 180 degree viewing angles. It’s powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core 2.2 GHz chipset, which also included a high-speed LTE adapter (so it’s G4 LTE ready). The Windows RT 8.1 tablet packs a 6.7-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera — the company is also including ZEISS optics and special imaging algorithms to increase the camera experience –. Also you’ll find a MicroSD slot, USB 3.0, headphones and power jacks. The company claims the device has an estimated battery life of 11 hours and as accessories goes, the Nokia Lumia 2520 has a Power Cover Keyboard for $149 that follows the same features as the Power Cover for Surface 2, which will give your Lumia tablet up to 5 extra hours of battery life for a total of 16 hours of usage without having to plug it to the wall outlet.
The devices will also come with four extra pieces of software from Nokia, including: Nokia Storyteller, Nokia Video Director, Nokia Music, and HERE Maps. One thing worth noting about the apps is that Nokia Music will offer free music streaming, which apparently comes without ads as the Nokia said, customers will get the “full free music service”. One of the biggest difference between Nokia Lumia 2520 and Surface 2 is that Nokia’s tablet will come with LTE from day one and although priced at $499 is about $50 more expensive than Microsoft Surface 2, still a more attractive buy. The first device outside Microsoft running Windows RT 8.1 will be available at the beginning of Q4 2013 and it will be released initially in the US, UK, and Finland, more markets will be announced soon.
