The news arrives days after a report revealed that Microsoft is planning to make the new version of Edge generally available on January 15, but without support for devices based on Qualcomm ARM processors, and until now, it was unclear when the native version of the browser was going to be available on an non-x86 platform. Although the company isn’t saying when a stable version of the browser will be available for the Qualcomm architecture, it’s still a welcome news as Surface Pro X owners will at least be able to surf the internet with a pre-release version of the most advanced version of Edge....

The information at this time is very thin, the mention of Groove in the Phone Companion app could easily suggest that Microsoft could be rebranding Xbox Music to Groove, but it also could indicate that the company is purchasing the app, or even something bigger. The Phone Companion app also refers the Xbox Music Pass as Groove Music Pass. You can see this reference in the screenshot above, “you can use the Groove app to listen to your entire collection on your PC or phone”, and “for access to millions of songs, unlimited streaming on all your devices, and no ads, check out Groove Music Pass....

The new Continuum experience will be very useful for those occasions where you’re on the road and a PC isn’t nearby. In these cases, you’ll be able to connect your phone to a larger screen and use apps, such as Word, Excel and Outlook in full screen just like they look on your desktop. Continuum for phones will also offer a great multitasking experience. Imagine you’re on vacation and you connect your phone to the TV in the hotel room and use the dual-screen capability to play a video for the kids while you catch up on some of your emails in the handset without interactions....

Also in the last Patch Tuesday of 2013, all Microsoft Surface tablets get a last firmware update. But in December, Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 are the ones getting the most updates. For example, Surface 2 gets fix for screen dimming when the processor is working intensively, there is a new update to support more external monitors, and there is also a fix for Bluetooth connectivity. And Surface Pro 2 gets wireless driver update, improved system stability and color fidelity on apps, and a lot more....

Out of the fourteen updates rolling out today, five are categorized as Critical and the remaining nine updates are categorized as Important. The updates labeled as Critical deal specifically with vulnerabilities that could allow remote code execution if a user views a specifically crafted website and the attacker could gain control of the user rights. The remaining nine Important updates patches specific vulnerabilities. For Example, KB3034344 deals with a vulnerability in the Kernel-Mode Driver that could allow elevation of privileges....

The reference of the new edition was first discovered in the test preview of Windows 10 (build 17650d) by Lucan on Twitter, and the installation is around 2GB smaller, compared to a Windows 10 Pro installation. It appears that Microsoft is able to make the installation smaller removing certain legacy components and utilities that are usually not required on budget computers. For example, Internet Explorer, and built-in apps like Paint, Photos, Movies & TV, Groove Music, Maps, and many others....

According to the Microsoft’s Malware Protection Center website “To help organizations complete their migrations, Microsoft will continue to provide updates to our antimalware signatures and engine for Windows XP users through July 14, 2015.” Although the software giant is eager for companies and consumers to upgrade to the latest Windows 8.1, Windows XP has been so successful that in order to keep everyone happy and continue to squeeze every drop of revenue, the company will try to keep outdated computers free of malware for one more year....

One of this key integration is Office. At the press event scheduled for January 21, we’re expecting Microsoft to unveil the touch-friendly version of Office that the company has been building to work across all form factor devices. The Surface 2 and Surface RT, both run Windows RT, which is a version of the operating system that runs on ARM-based processors, and as we all now know Microsoft is ditching this version for a new version of Windows 10 tailor for mobile devices. So, it was unclear if the company was ever going to continue with a non-pro version of its tablet. We even knew Microsoft was planning to release a Surface Mini, but the tablet was killed just before the Surface Pro 3 launch....

The social network giant trying to get wagon of offering deals like Groupon and Google Offers, is already started injecting coupons in your news feed for businesses you are most likely to buy from. If at any time you are in a page of a business and you leave a like, you will be granting them permission to send you offers; they can write a status update with a deal, which then will show up in your news feed....

As you’ll come to see the new News Feed redesign is a major change since the release of Facebook Timeline back in 2011. There are three main areas where the company is redesigning, including: bigger images, multiple feeds and responsive designed. This time around the social network giant has completely overhauled the News Feed to be more colorful and vibrant, highlighting the posts, photos, news, maps, and events that people are sharing....

The Surface Earbuds are the first wireless earbuds from the company, and they feature an ultra-comfortable and stable fit, and they provide touch controls to start phone calls or control music playing from your phone. The firmware update is dated June 18, and it’s available for devices running Windows 10 version 1909 or greater. Surface Go 2 June 2020 update The following improvements are available for Surface Go 2: Surface Touch – Firmware 64.26.0.0: Improves pen performance when your palm is on the device. Surface UEFI – Firmware 1.0.1.0: Improves system stability. The update should download and install automatically, but if you have not received it, then you get it from Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and try to force the download manually....
