Toshiba calls it: Shape-Shifting, a new kind of PC that has three parts (display, detachable keyboard, and kickstand) and it aims to be the best all-in-one that also can be used in a variety of scenarios. The concept PC has a laptop mode and two convertible tablet modes — one that you can leave the keyboard and fold it back, similar to the Lenovo Yoga PC, and the other tablet mode is possible by removing the keyboard and folding back the kickstand–. What’s special about the new Toshiba concept is the additional modes that’s possible thanks to the detachable keyboard.  SEE ALSO: Intel’s North Cape: long-lasting, unique full-HD screen-detaching reference for Haswell chips There is also a Presentation/TV mode using the kickstand and the fifth mode is the Canvas mode that let you flip the screen 270 degrees allowing you to use the device with a stylus.

This Windows 8 PC looks really unique and promising, but it’s just a concept, so there is no pricing or availability time frame. According to various sources Toshiba is even considering to install both Android and Windows operating systems on the new Shape-Shifting Concept PC as many computer manufacturers will be doing the same in 2014. One scenario could be using Windows as in laptop mode and flipping the screen could switch to Android — but nothing is for sure just yet.
