Similar to build 14366, the new test version of Windows 10 doesn’t include significant changes or features. However, the new update introduces a new tool to do a clean install called “Refresh Windows”, and it also includes a lot of fixes to get the Anniversary Update ready for the July release.
What’s new in Windows 10 build 14367
Perhaps the most interesting change is the new tool that provides a new way to start a clean installation of Windows 10. The new “Refresh Windows” tool is available from the Settings app (but it’s still a tool you need to download), and it helps users to install a clean copy of the most recent version of the operating system on your computer without needing to create a bootable media. Once you download and launch RefreshWindowsTool.exe, you simply accept the terms, choose what you want to keep, and click Install — then the rest is an automated process. (For more information, check this Microsoft forum thread.) Microsoft warns that regardless of your selection using the “Refresh Windows” tool will perform a clean installation. Meaning that all applications that came with or were manually installed on your computer will be removed, including paid applications, but built-in apps will be preserved. The Feedback Hub app now includes the Windows key + F keyboard shortcut to take a screenshot and launch the app to quickly submit a new feedback. For handwriting recognition, the company is now adding 23 additional language support. (For more information, you can check the Windows Dev Center.) Microsoft is also improving cross-device notifications from your phone to your computer using Cortana, making notifications appear faster on your devices. In Action Center, when you turn off a Quick Action button, you will now see On/Off text to clearly indicate the state of the feature.
Build 14367 for mobile devices
On Windows 10 Mobile build 14367, Microsoft is removing the Kids Corner feature due to the lack of interest from users. However, some of the same functionalities you can find them on the Apps Corner. On the flight for mobile device, the company is also improving battery life when Microsoft Edge is running in the background. There is an important fix to address the Battery Saver issue when battery is at 20 percent. And Windows Hello should no longer get stuck on the screen after logging in. Microsoft is listing all the fixes and known issue for build 14367 at the Windows Blog. Windows 10 build 14367 is available immediately through the Fast ring of updates. It’ll download and install automatically on your PC and Windows 10 Mobile handsets, but you can always force the update from Settings > Update & security > Windows Update and clicking the Check for updates button. The Windows 10 Anniversary Update is expected to roll out to everyone as a free update (presumably) on July 29th. It’s yet unclear whether Microsoft will only release the new update for PC, or if Mobile, Xbox One, and HoloLens will also receive the same update at the same time.
