The rumor has it, build 14393 could well be the final version that the company will sign off as the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. We also know this as RTM (Release to Manufacturing), but the company doesn’t want anyone to use that reference anymore as Windows is now consider a service. Furthermore, moving forward the company will no longer refer any new version “RTM”, and we’re likely never going to hear from Microsoft about which test builds are getting closer to be the final version. According to Mary Jo Foley at ZDNet, sources say that Microsoft is currently planning to sign off one of the Windows Insider Preview build as final by July 20th. This build will be the one that Microsoft will push as the Windows 10 Anniversary Update on August 2nd for PC, laptops, tablets, and phones.

On Windows 10 build 14393, the company isn’t including any new features or new changes. Instead there are only a few bug fixes to improve the reliability of Start, Cortana, and Action Center. And users should be able to mount iPods as USB mass-storage device. On Windows 10 Mobile build 14393, Microsoft keeps improving the battery life of handsets, and the release also fixes some battery draining issues.

As for known issues, on build 14393, the company highlights a camera driver issue that can cause Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 blue screen of death. On the mobile version, known issues includes Wi-Fi problems. Users may get locked out of their phones entering the PIN twice using Wallet. Microsoft is testing a new backup format for mobile devices that reduces the size stored on OneDrive. If you do a backup with the latest update, and back to the production release, then the Start layout won’t be preserved.
