The company made the official announcement at its website, on an article showcasing a number of new devices that were introduced during IFA 2018 in Berlin. “I’m pleased to announce that our next feature update to Windows will be called the Windows 10 October 2018 Update” Roanne Sones, Corporate Vice President at Microsoft, said in the article. The official name shouldn’t come to a surprise, as we’ve already heard a rumor that the “October 2018 Update” could end up being the final name. Also, the name aligns with the naming scheme that the company used in its previous release, which the company ended calling the April 2018 Update. In this update, formerly known with the Redstone 5 codename, is not expected to deliver a lot of new features and redefine the way you use Windows 10, but it packs a long list of improvements and a new set of smaller features that should help to make the operating system better. Among the new features, you can expect to see a new clipboard experience that syncs content across devices. File Explorer finally gets a dark theme. You’ll find two new tools including Screen Sketch to take screenshots, and Your Phone to connect your iOS or Android phone to your device, and a lot more.
