Previously we heard the idea of Microsoft trying to unify all the Windows experiences into one, some people call this vision “one Windows”. One of the features that brings the experience closer together is the Windows notification center, similar to what you see today in Windows Phone. And today, we know this feature is for sure will be included in Windows Threshold. According to a new report from Neowin, in the latest build of Windows Threshold, Microsoft has already implemented a new notification center that works in the same way the feature works in Windows Phone. Before we weren’t sure how the company was going to implement the feature, because in Windows Phone you can easily swipe down from the top access your notifications, but in Windows 8, swiping down from top brings the app bar to access different options or you can pull an app from the top down to close it. To make everything work, Microsoft seems to have chosen a logical location to launch the notification center, the system tray, and there users will be able to see all the events triggers by apps or the system. And there is a button to let users quickly clear all the notifications or delete them one-by-one. Unlike Windows Phone, the new notification center for Windows 9 is not a full screen experience, instead it is a small window located at the bottom of the desktop that users can scroll up or down. The current background of the area is white and it looks very clean. Currently this new experience is pretty simple, users can view all the notifications, but there are not buttons to access other settings, like you see in Windows Phone. Of course, this can always change and Microsoft can add more functions. Thus far this is all we know about the Windows Threshold notification center.
